Fabric Giveaway

This is a great giveaway. Over 10 years of assorted Lilly Fabric. Check it out by going to GOOD LUCK!

  1. For some reason, I couldn't post this on your Shop for Charity blog...

I'm very involved with a student run organization called the Grassroot Project. It's modeled after a similar organization in South Africa called Grassroot Soccer. Division I student athletes from DC universities (Georgetown, GW, and Howard) are trained to go into middle schools as role models. We teach the at-risk youth about how to prevent HIV/AIDS through sports. The program is completely unique and very important as statistics show 1 in 20 DC adults is HIV positive.

We're currently fund raising for a trip to South Africa this summer as part of the Team Up campaign. We're holding an essay contest to select 10-15 DC participants to bring to Soweto, South Africa during the World Cup. Leading up to the World Cup, the DC students will be paired up with South African kids as pen pals and will exchange homemade videos about their respective programs and lives. Once in South Africa, the kids will meet their pen pals and participate in a week-long joint Grassroot program and partake in community service activities. WE'RE BRINGING THE GLOBAL ISSUE OF HIV/AIDS TO THE WORLD CUP 2010.

Let me know if you have any questions! Here's a link to my blog with more information:
